During the past 6-7 years we have ridden our motorbikes together a lot. Whether on track at the Hungaroring, racing, long and short tours, we have developed a great camaraderie between us. At that time we were members of a small female motorcycle club. Our current president got to know about WIMA during her stay abroad in summer 2010. After her initiation, the AGM and voting of the International Committee on 26th July 2011 at the International Rally in Lancaster, England, we started to organise the Association.
Our inaugural meeting, with ten founder members, took place on 12th December 2011 in Budapest.
The committee approved and issued the constitution on 31st July 2012 to operate as WIMA, Women’s International Motorcycle Association, Hungarian Division.
The general assembly elected:
Emese Melicher as President,
Klaudia Lökös as Vice President and
Hajnalka Koncsek as Secretary.
The aims of the Club and its members are to promote the culture of safe motorcycle riding, to recruit members across the country with a shared interest in motorcycling, to promote women in Motorsport, to organise events, support both new and young riders, as well as those that have been biking for years and support the activities of WIMA Internationally.
Organise female focused motorcycle events, with a charitable aim. To find sponsors and supporters to supply equipment and help in this purpose.
Every female person living in Hungary can be a WIMA member, regardless of age, religion, race, sexual orientation, motorcycle type or experience level, even those without a driving licence or motorbike! Annual membership fees may vary depending on decision of the committee.
In the spirit of these ideals, you are welcome to join us as a member or patron who agrees with the aims and objectives of the association.
